Five for Friday {14th Feb}

I'm linking up with Kasey at Doodlebugs for another 5 for Friday.

Week 3 is complete! My kiddos are finally feeling like my kiddos which is the best feeling. We have been super busy this week and I remembered to take some photos :)

~ One ~
We made these adorable cards today for Valentine's. Go here to get the free template.

~ Two ~
The kidlets are adapting to my "we'll take a photo" policy of packing up lego & play dough, etc. They are such cuties.

~ Three ~
We made our "Love is.." book today. Their answers were {mostly} very sweet.

~ Four ~
We made Love Bots! The craft was from here. I forgot to take a pic of the display (I will) but they looked adorable.

~ Five ~
We read "Love, Splat!" this week. The pics they drew were adorable.

5 for Friday {7th of Feb}

How'd it get to be the weekend already?! We have been so busy this week that I realised today that I had forgotten to take photos of  the amazing things we have been up to :( so this has become more of a mishmash of the last 2 weeks since our school year has begun.

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs to share my {almost photo free & completely random} 5 for Friday :)

~ One ~
My new classroom is one giant space which my teaching buddy and I share. I really need to take new pics but it's a pretty amazing classroom. We are loving it!

~Two~
We started Maths this week by creating our number bracelets to 10. We looked at ways we can make 10, quick ways to count it, colour patterns and "good" counting.

~Three~
The first few weeks have been routine, routine, routine! We have been using these social stories and visual reminders. Check them out in my store or click the pic's for a direct link.

As well as this freebie which you can find here

~Four~
It has been birthday central in my room this week. If I see another chocolate frog I may be sick. And because that statement is pretty gross here is a rainbow that was above our place on Monday night. Ain't it pretty?!

~Five~
I was very lucky to meet up with StefPaula & Alison in Kyneton two weeks ago. The town is super adorable & because this post is random here are some pics of the town {but not one of the 4 of us together because we forgot, lol}.

Happy weekend :)

Storybook Sunday- First Day at Cow School

I'm linking up with Paula from Paula's Place to share a picture book that we read last week, First Week at Cow School by Andy Cutbill. This is one of my favourite's for the first week at school and looking at how we each have special skills & talents.

This is Andy's follow up story to "The Cow that Laid an Egg". These stories are super funny!

In The First Week at Cow School Majorie the cow sends her daughter Daisy off to her first day at cow school but Daisy finds it a bit difficult to fit in. The kids love this story as the pictures fill you in that Daisy is actually a chicken.

We had lots of great discussion about how Daisy was different to the other kids in her class & what her special skills and talents are. It's also a great story to talk about classroom routines and days of the week.

I love to make a craft each week to support our Book of the Week. Being first week back & we only had 3 half-days that didn't happen but you might like to check out my Book & Letter Crafts Board to get some ideas for Majorie & Daisy crafts.

Follow Rebecca Perry's board Book & Letter Crafts on Pinterest.

Hope you enjoy this story,

Currently February!

Yay, it's currently time! I'm linking up with Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade to share what I'm up to this month :)

Listening

It is HOT here again (apparently we are tipped for high temps all February). The poor air conditioner has been on for 3 days straight.

Loving

Very excited to have met some lovely Victorian bloggers in person for lunch today. It was great to catch-up with Stef, Paula & Alison in real-life.

Thinking

Lunch conversation sparked some new ideas for this week. I need to change the plan!

Wanting

I love being back at work {3 days in} but am missing my husband as he is busy helping his folks build a deck on the weekends. Last week I had the goal of leaving work by 4.30pm so that we would have time at home to catch-up. Hoping to keep this up most days this year.

Needing

I am actually feeling great about my new job, classroom and kidlets but more time is always nice.

2 Truths

1. Yes, I have a shoe addiction. I think the last count was 34. I also have a dress buying addiction which is worse... near 50, I know, I know... And yes, I do clean out my wardrobe- this is stuff I wear :)
3. I'm a baker in my heart, soul & shoes! The hubs and I are trying to be healthy after Christmas so I have been banned from baking. It's killing me.

A Lie

2. Unfortunately I got the klutz gene not the co-ordinated one. Being at a new school I have a deep fear that people will throw stuff at/to me... my old teaching peeps knew not to. I've started to warn people but the day will come when I'll look like a twit that can't catch, kick or throw... Which is true :)

Happy February,
