Monday Made It: A snazzy new bedhead

I've very excited to be linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for my first Monday Made It!! And, shhh... it's also the first Monday of our Winter holidays so life is really pretty good :)

The hubs and I are both home on holidays so we finally got around to making a new bed head. Ain't she pretty?!

We made her for a grand total of $60, which is awesome because the ones we found to buy were $300. There are heaps of bed head ideas on Pinterest but incase you're interested, to make Betsy the Bed Head we bought:

*a sheet of MDF
*a packet of pre-cut Queen size Dacron filling
*pretty Upholstery material, and it was on sale, bonus!
*tacks
*the hubs already had 4 x L-brackets & screws

The hubs cut the MDF to fit our bed frame {1000mm x 1700mm} and we sanded the edges.

After we laid down the material we got tacking.

Then the hubs removed the middle iron work from our bed frame, attached L-brackets and screwed the MDF into the brackets.

Viola! All finished.

Sorry about the dark pics but it was after 4pm by the time we got it all finished. It's winter here so it's dark & cold and yucko, which is totally a legitimate word :)

Incase you were wondering Mr Ninja Man and the art work above are both by the very talented Sonia Brit from Bob Boutique, the cutest shop in the world.

Thanks for stopping by & happy holidays/vacation/week ahead,
